Mobile 2.0 Europe Developer Conference is a one-day event in Barcelona on June 17, 2010 exploring the future of mobile development and innovation, presented by dotopen and the Mobile 2.0 Organizing Committee, with the support of Nokia, PayPal X, BlackBerry, bluenove, O2 Litmus, Orange, Vodafone, Microsoft and Skyhook Wireless.The conference is tailored to mobile developers who want to discover the latest tools and trends in mobile technology (DevTrack) and business (BizTrack).

We’ll kick-off the day with a couple of panels that will set the tone:  “Web vs. Native Apps” and “How to Make Money as a Developer”.

This year’s Developer Track will have 16 different workshop sessions and take place in four fully equipped rooms. Participants will get hands on insights into the latest in mobile development directly from the platform leaders and experts: Nokia, Vodafone, Blackberry, Mozilla, Opera, Paypal and more. The Business Track will be all about the app economy with panels and talks from thought leaders such as Volker Hirsch who will talk about  ”How Social helps to Deliver Effective Freemium Mobile Games & Apps” and Chrisine Perey focusing on ”Generating Revenues with Mobile Augmented Reality”. It’s a series of short talks on a number of different topics, and features a couple of old MH pals: David Gill of Nielsen Mobile, and Dan Appelquist from Vodafone.

I was honored to be asked by MH pal Helen Keegan to give some input to an event she and her team are organizing in London on December 7, called Heroes of the Mobile Screen. We’re working on putting together a fantastic list of speakers and sessions and we’ve got a great venue — now comes the fun part: you get to turn up, enjoy and make lots of great connections.

Here’s the pitch:

The team behind Mobile Monday London, Swedish Beers Mobile Networking, Future of Mobile, Over The Air, Mobile 2.0 and Tech Media Invest, today announced the launch of a brand new event coming to London on 7 December, Heroes of the Mobile Screen http://mobileheroes.net/

The day-long event at BFI Southbank will differ from anything else around and get the stakeholders of mobile involved in discussing the issues affecting them and their customers. Uniquely the event also has secondary school pupils, college students and other members of the same generation, to tell the industry what they want from their mobile, what they expect from their network operators and what’s most important to them in terms of their mobile life..

Heroes of the Mobile Screen is already attracting a number of high caliber ‘heroes’ with speakers and panelists answering the call from around the world, to unite in London on December 7. Speakers, panelists and sponsors will all be announced shortly.

Heroes of the Mobile Screen has four core pillars supporting discussion throughout the day.

The money
What’s making money, who’s making money and what’s being invested in and where the money’s going to be in the future? The answers to all the questions we want to ask of successful mobile service providers and VCs.

The impact of social/location
What is the impact of social media and location technology? What do customers want, what are the business models, what are the solutions to privacy issues. Carriers are placing their bets in this area, but will they pay off?

Teenage heroes
Led by digital youth marketing expert Julia Shalet, this is a new format where we invite four companies to pitch their product, service or device live to six teenagers and they tell us what they really think.

Real customers, real applications, real marketing
A double session with the first half covering customers and what they really want on mobile with a focus on women in particular with a keynote from an expert in this area sharing some new research and insight into what women want. The second half will cover mobile marketing and advertising, what’s working, what’s not and what’s coming next.

Next up is the latest Mobile 2.0 Europe event on June 18 and 19 in Barcelona. Not that you should really need much inducement to visit Barcelona, but Rudy de Waele and co. have put together a tremendous list of speakers, and they’ve also added a developer day that looks good.
