Google’s Mobile Duh Moment

gmail.pngFast is better than slow, Google says, when it comes to mobile. But they’ve got data to back that up — with a chart! They say that S60 and BlackBerry users that install their home-screen search shortcuts not only see a 40 percent increase in the speed of their search results, but they also perform 20 percent more searches than users without it. And in the chart you see here, they’ve noticed that decreasing the latency of Mobile Gmail for iPhone users has coincided with growth in page views.

So, in short, better, faster, easier to use services attract more users.

Duh? A bit, yes. But it’s probably worth repeating anyway.
