Hyperspatial Express Route Planning

Posted by Russell Buckley on 03.14.08 | 1 Comment

In the classic first scene of the sadly-missed Douglas Adams’s novel, the Vogon fleet demolishes the earth and all its inhabitants to make way for a hyperspatial express route. When the Vogons announce their intention to destroy it within the next few minutes and they observe the earthlings’ panicked reactions, they testily tell them:

“There’s no point in acting all surprised about it. All the planning charts and demolition orders have been on display in your local planning department on Alpha Centauri for fifty of your Earth years, so you’ve had plenty of time to lodge any formal complaint and it’s far too late to start making a fuss about it now.”

Which brings me to the point of this post. The Mobile Marketing Association has recently issued draft guidelines for mobile advertising and you can download a copy here. Have a read if you’re even vaguely connected with mobile marketing and leave a comment in the public forums or direct by email committees@mmaglobal.com. Any feedback needs to be received by 31st March 2008.

If you don’t read them and comment on any concerns, you’re not going to be in a position to start making a fuss about them when they’re finalised. After all, (back to Hitchhiker’s Guide) it’s not as if they’re on display “in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying Beware of the Leopard” or anything.
