T-Mobile Says the iPhone’s Selling Great; Early, Unscientific UK Reports Don’t Look So Rosy

Posted by Carlo Longino on 11.09.07 | 1 Comment

T-Mobile claims it’s already sold more than 10,000 iPhones in Germany, on the first day of its availability. Its parent company’s CEO is already saying that it may not be able to meet demand for the device through the Christmas season, but if they’re running low, perhaps they can ship some devices in from the UK.

While sources close to the situation (ie people in my Twitter feed) say there’s a long line at the Apple store on Regent Street in London, others say “there are MANY staff inside and zero customers outside the O2 stores in Edinburgh,” “4 ppl in queue at o2 in cambridge. Getting muffins, tea, water from nice staff. 250 in stock here,” and elsewhere in London, “passed 2 phone shops on the way to the station, 1 ‘queue’ of 3 saddo’s.”

We’ll keep an eye on this developing story…
