It is based on J2ME and works via HTTP (instead of using sockets), which makes it interoperable with most operators. Only thing you need is a Jabber account (you can also use your @gmail account, it is Jabber too). Note: You can also add your ICQ, MSN, AIM etc. contacts to this Jabber account.
