The latest entry in our ongoing efforts to detail the ways stupid criminals are getting hamstrung by mobile phones comes from Puchong, Malaysia, where a couple of baddies used a machete to rob a mobile phone shop:
While the robber was helping himself to cell phones from the store display, the shopkeeper returned with a cudgel and caught the robber on the head. At this an accomplice keeping watch outside came in to assist and the shopkeeper retreated. At this the thieves left and took off on a motorbike being driven by a third accomplice.
The shopkeeper made one last attempt to stop the thieves, and although he was slashed with the knife, his actions caused the bike to crash and locals detained the robbers.
To finish off though - it later transpired that the cellphones that they had stolen were in fact, just worthless display dummy shells!
