Where Shall We Sit?

The right seat on the plane makes an absolutely crucial difference to a relaxed and comfortable flight and a contorted, muscle-spasming hell, next to a constantly flushing and smelly loo.

One of the secret weapons of travelling by plane has always been Seat Guru. You can always consult their website for the low down on which seats are best on which plane, so if you can’t remember the difference between an Airbus 340-300 or a 747-400, check them out before you fly.

But, even though I know this from bitter experience, I often forget to consult them before I leave home, frequently resulting in a rather torrid seat.

So it’s great news that they’ve launched a mobile version here, that you can consult while you’re in the queue to check in.

Of course, even they can’t stop you getting stuck next to the 40 stone, chatty, multi-level marketing salesman on a 12 hour flight, but hey – you can’t have everything.

  • What a godsend the mobile version will be - I love seeing applications that I know that I'll use all the time that genuinely make life easier.

Here's another favourite of mine in the UK: 82 Ask. Text absolutely any question at all to their shortcode 82275, and you will be amazed at the speed and accuracy of the answer! Great value for money on the go (costs £1)
