I don’t think it’s legal to shoot someone in the face for a minor assault, though, as I believe most CCL owners are aware.

The whole thing boils down to the question of the right to personal security, which is recognised and protected by law. These kids are not respecting that right, and eventually they will suffer the consequences. 100 hours of community service could be a signal deterrent to offenders.

As for the ‘buy a car, don’t use public transport, and avoid dodgy areas’ solution, London relies heavily on public transport and people from all walks of life use it. You shouldn’t have to do those things to avoid trouble and have your fundamental rights to safety and security respected. And what about low income victims who are forced to live in those areas and can’t move away (as is the case for crime rates in general)?

And you won’t be making $$$ from a Jackass-style video either.

What’s needed is to catch a few offenders and make an example of them, and an education campaign at schools concerning respect for others, targetting the idiots who want to ‘smack a norman, innit’ for no reason.

That’s my social science/ethical philosophy input.

I’ve head about this, and I’ve been waiting for this to happen to me… I hate chavs with a passion and I’d love an excuse to really _hurt_ one of them. But like the article says, they don’t seem to keen on happy slapping 200lb guys. Oh well, maybe I should wear a dress or something.

After seeing the videos through the above link, I noticed that many of the people that are victim to these pathetic twats are young children , women and anyone defenseless enough to these dick heads. Imagine if Silver had been packing. When the teenager punches him in the head, Silver pulls out a 9mm and shoots the kid in the face. His little friends all capture it on video. Now that would be hilarious.

Come to think of it, maybe concealed carry laws are why “happy slapping” hasn’t caught on in the U.S.!

What are people thinking about? This is another example of the crazy things people do just to be part of the crowd. How far do we have to go to be accepted by a world that really couldn’t care less about the feelings of others? But then again I guess people are board taking pictures of happiness. The smile just doesnÌt cut it anymore. We want everyone to be a miserable as the rest of the people sick enough to take part in this crazy stunt. I would much prefer to see pictures of the idiot who takes the slap shot of the poor innocent person they slapped. I would even be prepared to make a website for that and call it slapshotmorons.com.
